What Classical Composer Are You?

Just for fun…

I came across this online quiz (remember when these were the biggest thing a few years back?) that asks a few questions and then tells you want composer you are most like based on your answers.  I got Beethoven!  Click here to take the quiz and see which composer you are (supposedly) most like.

What Classical Composer Are You?
Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827)

Beethoven’s powerful music effected the transition between the classical and romantic periods in music; consequently, he is one of the most influential of all composers. He was a virtuoso pianist, he studied with Haydn, and he began losing his hearing in his twenties. He continued to compose and conduct even after he had become completely deaf. This was just one of his many struggles, but his music was nonetheless characterized not only by strong motivic development but also by the Romantic idea of the suffering of the heroic artist. Western music is indebted to Beethoven for his genius, his innovation, and the powerful witness given through his work. He was a brave soul who ultimately gave everything for his art.

  1. Rachel, I got Bach! I was hoping for Beethoven because I like his music more, but Bach is a master in his own right so I can accept that. Cute quiz.
